Bieber Fever

In my online, time-wasting shenanigans (stumbleupon, twitter, memes), I came across this gem and thought it applied to our class, so I thought I'd go ahead and post it even though it doesn't meet the new requirements for blog posts. (Christopher, don't worry, this is not my post for the week. I just thought it was worth sharing).

  1. I think that that is both hilarious and sad at the same time. Hilarious because I never thought that video would have that many views, and sad because I never thought that it would have more views than any Tupac video. It says about what music listeners actually want to hear. In general (and I'm not talking about everyone), people don't want to her anything that may challenge and possibly offend their sensibilities. They want stuff that lacks complexity and lacks a message. I personally don't hate Justin Bieber at all, and I think he's talented, but the songs that he puts out are easily forgettable. And I'm saying that people can't listen to whatever they want, but sometimes wanting more from the music that you hear can sometimes be good.
